I hope you and your families remain well and are managing in these difficult times. Many of you will have watched the Prime Minister make his announcement on Sunday about the next steps in the country’s response to the Coronavirus crisis.
At the moment we do not have specific answers to when schools will reopen but we are waiting to receive more information from Government about the next steps and what they will be. For now, nothing has changed and schools are still closed. We will provide further information in the coming days and weeks once we know more.
Although we all want to see children back in classes, decisions will be based on the health and safety of everyone – pupils, staff and parents - and any decisions we make will be based on the knowledge of our school building and the community we serve.
We all need to be aware that when children do return to school it will be very different to how it was before Covid-19. Social distancing will need to be upheld, additional cleaning will have to take place and our approach to the curriculum will be different, dependent on the resources that it is still safe to use.
I know this has been a very challenging time for everyone. It is essential that we make sure Little London is as safe a place as possible for your children and we will be trying very hard to minimise the risks.
Our school website continues to hold lots of information and weekly learning menus are posted there for your children.
We miss you all very much and hopefully we will find a way to safely move forward in reopening our wonderful school.
With love and warmest thoughts – Mrs Wood (Headteacher)
